The most forgotten of the PC Engine upgrades, the SuperGrafx was released two years into the TurboGrafx-16's lifespan with double the video chips and quadruple the RAM!
However, there wasn't a whole lot of promise - Developers weren't willing to spend time researching and working on the new hardware while more powerful and supported machines were already on the market. Because of this, it only ended up with 7 total titles that made use of the new system's abilities.
The console had very weak sales, but it was at least fully compatible with the TurboGrafx's entire HuCard library, and it supported the CD peripheral as well.
Special items included: None.
Items removed: Regular TurboGrafx-16 games.
Release notes: About "Darius Alpha" and "Darius Plus" - Tthese two titles were originally released for the TurboGrafx-16, but they were built so that better performance, less screen flickering, and full sound capability would happen when used on the SuperGrafx.
