Starting with Duke Nukem 3D, the Dukester needed a voice as his games evolved into the more modern shooter era.

The incredibly talented Jon St. Jon was tapped to fill the soon-to-be iconic character with attitude, personality, motive, and emotion. He nailed what was needed and added his own creative flair, recording tons upon tons of voice lines and vocal effects over the years. This wasn't just any usual asset - Jon's voice was honestly just as important as the game's features and gameplay itself. I have no doubt that the series would not have been nearly as popular had it been without this exact voice set. Jon brought all the life into each title.

Not only did it help skyrocket the popularity of Duke games, the character's voice itself became iconic on its own, spawning endless soundboards, audio pranks, memes, and YouTube remixes.
